present day
present time

Nothing human makes it out of the near-future.

The subject runs along the sand, clutching its throbbing head, upon an infinitely extending axis of time — but soon comes to realize that only its own movement runs across the sand. Within the time of the buffer, distance converted into the frequency of state change produces rapid state changes at high frequencies and slow state changes at low frequencies. Likewise, the nearer the distance, the faster the state change occurs; the farther the distance, the slower it unfolds. It is as if one can immediately lift an object before one's hand, yet must walk a long road to lift an object beyond the mountain. Time and distance, developed into being through movement, exist like the type of a text in a state without change — and, as in chronophotography, only when approached and read do they at last transcend into spacetime, exhaling the breath of an automaton. The footprints of countless blessed people crossing the horizon, and the motion vectors of P-frames (Predictive Frames), are compressed into a cube.
